Computer Tune-Ups

 

No, it's not your imagination: Your computer really is getting slower these days.

In the course of normal use, computers (especially those running Windows) slow down. Some of the main reasons for this are:

• Temporary files build up, sometimes to massive proportions.
• The registry gets full of obsolete and incorrect entries, which the system wastes time parsing.
• The pagefile and Master File Table (MFT) can get corrupted or fragmented, which can ause a serious performance loss.
• Malware wastes system resources and rob you of privacy and security.
• Useless applications start up and "run in the background" whenever you start the computer.

These problems can also cause your computer to lock up, crash, BSOD (crash with the "Blue Screen of Death"), or spew all sorts of errors when trying to do quite ordinary work.

That's why computers, like cars, need to be tuned up once in a while. An hour or two in the hands of a skilled technician can often breathe new life into your PC. In addition, we can tweak your settings to disable useless services and effects, resulting in a machine that runs lean and mean.

 

Important Notes. Please read first.

1. System requirements for the computer tune-up include: Windows XP or newer Windows operating system; sufficient hard drive space for the installation of diagnostic and corrective utilities; and a working Internet connection. Some procedures require a high-speed Internet connection for optimal performance improvement.

2. Adware and Spyware removal may cause many "free" programs to not work anymore. To derive any real benefit from this offer, you must be willing to let us uninstall certain "free" programs such as KaZaa, Gator, Limewire, Bonzi Buddy, Comet Cursor, and other spyware-laden programs.

3. A tune-up will not correct problems caused by hardware failure, rootkits, or other serious corruption of system or program files. These services are also available, but fall outside the scope of a tune-up.

4. Performance improvement will vary depending upon the age, general condition, and resources of the system.
